State of Art Film Festival

State of Art threw its first Film Festival in October of 2022. We had over thirty-five films submitted in four different categories: dramas, comedies, music videos, and short documentaries. Three to four films were chosen from each category to show at the event, including two films from Oscar winning documentary director, Ben Proudfoot.

The event itself was a night of inspiration and fun. Guests enjoyed beautiful, heartbreaking and funny films as well as delicious snacks. The stunning State of Art awards were presented to the winners as the finale.

State of Art Music Competition

In July of 2022, State of Art threw its first music competition. The event was entry by application with all the musicians applying beforehand to compete. 10 musicians were then selected to preform in front of a live audience and panel of judges.

The event doubled as a fundraiser for State of Art with audience members getting to vote on their favorite musicians for $1 a vote. The competition lasted three rounds with singers getting eliminated each round down to the final three.

The last round and final winner was determined by our panel of judges who gave feedback to the artists in real time.

Congratulations to Dylan Wager, our first award winner. He went home with a $100 Guitar Centre gift card, free photoshoot and free album art design for use in the future.

Ukraine Benefit Concert

In the spring of 2022, the State of Art team decided to put on a benefit concert to aid victims affected by the Ukraine/Russia crisis. Shane Cary, supporter and friend of the State of Art team had been in Ukraine in person just weeks before the event and was able to give his first hand account of how much the support was needed.

The event was a line up of live music acts, free to attend on the lawn in Carlsbad Village. We set up a booth with more information about the organizations we were supporting and asked for donations from passersby.

The event was a huge success and in the span of a couple hours we were able to raise $1200 for the victims in Ukraine.

March 2022 Networking Event

Our second networking event was thrown just 5 weeks after our first and was a true test to see if these events were actually as high in demand as our first one led us to believe. Turns out they were, as we had over 40 artists through our doors that evening.

We featured lived music from Lee Coulter, finger food and drink, and multiple Vendors including KR Boards, Visible Magazine, Red Beard Leather and Toole Collective.

First Networking Event

State of Art threw its first ever event on February 11th, 2022. We had absolutely no idea what to expect and whether people would respond well to it or even show up at all. We were completely blown away at the response.

Over 50 artists came through our doors that evening from all different disciplines: painters, stylists, musicians, filmmakers, photographers, actors, models, craftsmen, writers, and more.

We featured multiple vendors including art from Sophia Pappas and JP Huckins, the photography of Allison Davis in her debut book, "Revealed at the Edge", and handmade products from Toole Collective and KR Boards.

We ended the night with a live performance and Q+A with Shua. It was truly a night to remember.
